Shortage of skilled labor & increased working hours resulting in high injury risks

The present epidemic caused one of the most striking labor shortages in the construction industry. This labor shortage has a deep impact on the safety of employees and construction quality, which could harm the reputation of a company. The global market is highly-compatible and demands innovation and a willingness to adapt quickly. For staff, this requires overtime, since the lack of qualified workers not only affects the quality of work but also reduces the chances of passing vital skills to new employees. In the past, professional employees were also interested in the acquisition of specialized expertise and best practices in the workforce for recruits or mentors. Regrettably, many of the skilled employees of the recent decade have retired or moved to other sectors with their business expertise.

The majority of the untrained staff are at increased risk of injury due to not following the health SOPs.

The main reason is the lack of experience.

Skilled machinists have just as technically extended construction works and removed an additional safety layer, which leads to untrained workers' injuries. Some businesses recruit staff being unaware of the unusual load of work that may pose a threat to themselves or others. Recent studies show that during the first six months of work, as many as 40% of all employees are injured.
Burnout.

Contractors with not enough workers demand employees to work overtime. Longer working hours can result in burnout injuries or excessive stress, depriving the workers of the safety precautions needed.

Construction workers are the people who are working in the physical construction and maintenance of buildings. Construction staff is commonly and precisely planned, and most construction personnel are determined primarily by their skills and experience in the industry. A worker performs a vast range of functions, from simple to dangerous. Constructors operate and repair machinery and equipment, including concrete mixers, jackhammers, screwdrivers, drills, etc.

Even when proper precautions are taken, incidents can happen anywhere, at any time. A report concludes that each year thousands of employees face health issues because of constant physical stress from work. Moreover, there is a risk of injury from inadequate space, uneven or instability in the floor, high or low temperatures, too big, difficult to handle, or unstable packing, a task that is unnecessary and a work environment that is lacking.
